For more than ten years, ITQ GmbH has been committed to interdisciplinary projects with universities in order to provide students with a practical and industry-oriented education. With the establishment of the Gerda Stetter Foundation – Technik macht Spaß! Dr. Rainer Stetter, CEO of ITQ GmbH, wants to get children and young people excited about technology.
Our vision is to motivate young people for technical projects and cross-disciplinary teamwork. We pass on our knowledge and enthusiasm for digitalization to the children and thus lay the foundation for a comprehensive education and a career in mechatronics. In this way, the young talent of tomorrow should be ready to shape their own future in a sustainable way.
You can find examples of our many activities on this website and in our Gerda Stetter Foundation Annual Report.
With our playfully workshops, we get young and old excited about technology while promoting independent thinking and teamwork. We teach technology with fun!
We want to give girls and young women a basic understanding of technology and software, and thus allay their fears of technical professions.
We work with various educational institutions and companies to promote integration projects in order to give every child the chance of a technical education.
We train specialists so they have a comprehensive understanding of the entire mechatronic project and can work in an interdisciplinary manner.
The Gerda Stetter Foundation – Technik macht Spaß! has established a modular training concept as its goal. We want to inspire people, from different age and professional groups, to get involved in technical projects and thereby help shape the technology of tomorrow in a “SMART & GREEN” way. The focus of our activities is the handling of technical knowledge as well as the practice on technical projects.
Our training concept is based on cooperations with a wide range of universities. In recent years, we have trained more than 500 students as technology coaches. These in turn, have been able to teach more than 6,000 children about technology in a fun way, at workshops at Trade Fairs or in local schools. We are pleased that – following the snowball principle – our network of technology enthusiasts continues to grow.
The world is undergoing a massive upheaval. Technological, social, and climatic conditions are changing at a steadily increasing rate. The current rapid development in digitalization offers children and young people in particular countless opportunities. In order to make effective use of these, projects are needed that inspire enthusiasm for technology and make it fun.
ITQ CEO and the Foundation’s Originator
“To be an entrepreneur also means assuming social responsibility. With our foundation, we want to push the technological education of children, students, and refugees in playful projects. After all, “childlike” curiosity and a freely lived play instinct form the basis for constant renewal and innovation.”
Head of Business Administration, ITQ
“With our comprehensive, modular training concept, we want to counteract the shortage of digital specialists at an early stage and thus sustainably promote and train young technical talent. We want to do this in a fun, joyful and enthusiastic way at all levels, because that’s the greatest motivation for sustainable learning.”
