Technology workshops at the electronica trade fair

Technik-Workshops-Kinder-Deutsches-Museum

What is it about?

As part of the Young Talent Days at the international electronics trade fair electronica in Munich, school and university students have the opportunity to actively immerse themselves in the world of the latest technologies. The aim is to spark an interest in technology and digital solutions among the very young. This is intended to combat the shortage of skilled workers in the STEM sector.

Topics such as the sustainable use of resources and renewable energies also play a role. We present the EU-funded EDUDEMOS project.

Date & Registration

The Young Talents Day will take place on November 15th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Stand 360 in Hall A4. Participation is free of charge. We would like to invite all interested students, teachers and professors.

What is on the agenda?

We offer various programming and technology workshops for schoolchildren, which are designed to provide a first insight into the world of electronics. Technical tools such as Raspberry Pi microcontrollers are used here, while child-friendly programming with Python allows even the very youngest children to playfully become big names in technology. LEGO Mindstorms EV3, KARL, the little robot from Medion, and the innovative TI-Innovator Rover from Texas Instruments, which is controlled by a calculator, are also on the agenda here.

Students also have the opportunity to take part in a 6-hour MAKEATHON, which is modeled on the successful SMART GREEN ISLAND MAKEATHON. Here, students can immediately apply the knowledge they have acquired and develop innovative solutions in the form of prototypes within a very short space of time. With the help of engineers from ITQ GmbH, valuable insights into the electronics industry are provided.
